The apps featured are:

1)  SlateMath: from SlateScience

FREE – iTunes (iPhone, iPad, iTouch)
Kindergarten – 1st grade: Math taught in a very fun and interactive way.  Support for 25 languages includes Spanish.

2) Frog Dissection – Froguts

$3.99 for iOS; $5.99 for Android
The infamous frog dissection class – without the “yuck” factor!

3) SAT Vocab Challenge – by Princeton Review

$4.99 per volume, iOS Compatible with iPhone® and iPod touch®
Over 250 of the words that most often appear on the SAT test (no, it’s not cheating!)

And for general knowledge, two great apps for all ages:


Free, iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android app has two million definitions. You can also look up words when offline. The apps even pronounce words (very helpful).

5) Wikipedia

Official Wikipedia App for iOS or Android. The web’s top free encyclopedia containing more than 20 million articles in 280 languages.
