Social Good Summit 2013 in NYC #2030NOW Theme

socialgoodsummit2013_webSocial Good Summit 2013 in NYC #2030NOW Theme. The fourth annual Social Good Summit 2013, with #2030NOW as the event’s key theme, will take place in NYC September 22-24th during UN General Assembly meetings week.  Presented by Mashable, the 92nd Street Y, the United Nations Foundation, the United Nations Development Program, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Ericsson, the event brings together technologists, influential minds and “passionate activists” to share ideas and help develop social media and technology-driven solutions to some of the world’s most pressing social and economic issues.

The #2030NOW theme attempts to answer that “big” question for every community:  “how can new technology and new media create solutions for the biggest problems facing my community and create a better future by the year 2030?”  Over 300 communities in over 150 countries took part in the 2012 Summit and this year’s planners hope to make September 24th the global meetup day to exceed those numbers.
