Rosa Alonso: I won a Google HP Chromebook! As part of the launch of the new Google HP Chromebook 11, Google featured a promo giving away about 900 Chromebooks. People were asked to nominate folks (and, yes, even cats!) that were making a difference on the Web. From “tech saviors,” to “night owls,” to” snap-happy parents,” to entrepreneurs (our category), people voted for their favorite teckies, human AND animal!
A little about the new Chromebook 11:

- 11.6-inch IPS display,
- Dual-core Samsung Exynos processor
- 2GB of RAM,
- 16GB solid-state drive and runs on Google Chrome OS
- 2.3 lbs (light!)
- Full-sized keyboard with digital speakers
Google is also offering 100GB of Google Drive storage for two years, a 60-day free trial to Google Play Music All Access and 12 free sessions of GoGo in-flight Internet. Price? $279. Pretty awesome! More info to come when I get mine.
Will keep you posted for the next round of freebies but in the meantime, check out all the winners – and the fun!
The HP Chromebook 11 features an 11.6-inch IPS display, a dual-core Samsung Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM, a 16GB solid-state drive and runs on Google Chrome OS. 16GB of local storage may sound like a small amount to most people, but the Chrome OS is made to take advantage of the could as many operations and media are typically located off the Chromebook. And because of that, Google is offering 100GB of Google Drive storage for two years from the moment they purchase a new Chromebook. That’s not all as Google is also offering a 60-day free trial to Google Play Music All Access and 12 free sessions of GoGo in-flight Internet. The HP Chromebook 11 is one of the lightest laptops on the market as it only weighs a total of 2.3 pounds, according to Google’s Caesar Sengupta. The Chromebook 11 also includes a full-sized keyboard and “digitally tuned” speakers located underneath the keyboard. Battery life is said to be rated around six hours, and the Chromebook 11 charges through a microUSB port making it easy to charge with any portable charger.:
