Google Offers $100 Discount on Nexus 4 Smartphone

GoogleNexus4Phone_PriceCut_webGoogle announced it’s $100 discount on the Nexus 4 Smartphone in the U.S. and is extending similar savings to other markets.  That means that you’ll now pay $199 for the 8GB version and $249 for 16Gs.  Considering this is an unlocked phone (you can bring to various wireless providers to activate AND even use when you travel abroad and save with lower local rates), that’s a pretty decent deal.  With this price cut and recent discounts on the Nexus 7 tablet, Google may be preempting companies with “cheaper” versions of brand smartphones, like Apple’s cheaper iPhone 5C to be announced on September 10, 2013 (along with other goodies, like the iWatch and more iPad news).

The Nexus 4 includes:

  • Share everything with Android beam

Perhaps the Nexus 5, rumored to be just around the corner, will be use the faster 4G LTE (and Android 4.3).   Nonetheless, for an unlocked phone with flexbility, the Nexus 4 is a great deal.
