Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 inch Phablet Coming to U.S.

SamsungGalaxyMega6.3_webSamsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 inch Phablet Coming to U.S.. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 inch “phablet” in finally on its way to the U.S. and carriers are scrambling to be first in line to feature this new tablet-like phone, or “phablet.”  ATT has already announced an in-market date of August 23rd ($149.99 with a two year contract). The other carriers have yet to announce their pricing/plans, but Samsung says Sprint and U.S. Cellular will also be carrying it.

The specs for the mega phablet closely align with the S4, so think of it as a sort of bigger sibling (S4 screen is already big for a phone, at 5.38 inches!)  Available in black or white, the Mega runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean, with an HD Super Clear display (1,280×720 pixels), dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage (expandable to 64GB with microSD card). The camera is one of the key differentiators here.  The Galaxy Mega has a rear 8 megapixel camera while the Galaxy S4 sports a whopping 13 megapixel camera (4128 x 3096 pixels), serious HD and camera/video features (I know, I own an S4 and take amazing pictures!)

Our phone screens are getting bigger, and Samsung has been quite successful with the Galaxy Note series (which experts has predicted would be a flop due to the large screens).  Consumers like these larger screens. I say Samsung is hot right now and anything they bring to market will sell.  What do you think?
